About Techrun

I founded Techrun in July 2025 to create a space for Persian tech professionals in Toronto to connect, share knowledge, and support each other. What started as a small meetup has grown into one of the largest Persian tech communities in Toronto.

Techrun brings together engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts from the Persian community. We organize regular meetups, workshops, and networking events to foster collaboration and mutual support.

Techrun /ˈtɛk-rʌn/ also "tek-run"

1 [portmanteau] Formed from the opening of Teh·ran fused with run·ning tech — encoding Persian roots directly into the name while evoking speed, drive, and innovation.

2 The name of a Persian tech community founded in Toronto, bringing together engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs from the Persian diaspora.

A weekly virtual coffee chat every Friday at 5 PM EST, open to Persians worldwide. We discuss tech news, business and market updates, and host guest speakers — all over a warm cup of chai.
